Perth Gold Cup 2024

In early June on a Sunday afternoon, Perth Racecourse continues its wonderful array of summer jumps meetings with Perth Gold Cup day, a meeting featuring seven fantastic races of varying types.

The feature event is a Class 2 three-mile handicap chase with prize money going up to £25,000 for the winner. The field, usually a thoroughly competitive one, is to negotiate fully 18 fences on their way around and it is no surprise to see the winner of this event being targeted at some of the top staying handicap races of the following jumps season.

Elsewhere on a valuable card the Edinburgh Gin Handicap Hurdle, the Class 3 Heineken UK Handicap Chase and a qualifying race for the Northern Lights Stayers’ Hurdle Series ably support the Gold Cup, while decent novice races over hurdles and fences take place alongside the closing Bumper race.
