With the weather hopefully beginning to warm up, kids needing something to do outdoors, and jumps racing fans possibly nursing a touch of the Cheltenham Blues, Exeter Racecourse hosts its popular Superhero Family Raceday on a Sunday afternoon in March.
The idea is to get the kids dressed up, or even just bring them along to see real superheroes who will appear throughout the day to compliment face painting, high ropes, bouncy castles, rosette making, and more besides. All those under 17 accompanied by an adult gain entry for free.
The action on the track is highlighted by three fine Class 3 races, two of which are worth a cool £22,000+ in prize money.
The biggest events are the 2m2½f Handicap Hurdle, the 2m3f Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase, and the 3m Handicap Chase, a qualifier for the Challenger Chase Series Final. Four more races are scheduled to complete a bumper day in Devon.
