As the title suggests, Beauty and the Beast Slot by Yggdrasil Gaming is based on the famous French fairytale. It offers the standard five reels plus three rows across 20 Paylines.

How to play

Bonus features
These three perks can be activated at random and are represented by a trio of servant characters, as follows:
- The Butler feature: One of the reels will nudge a place up or down if this improves the winning combo. And if this triggers the free spins (see below) then that will happen. Should the Chef feature be active at the same time, all synced reels nudge together.
- The Maid feature: Between two and four Wild symbols will be added to the reels at random.
- The Chef feature: The central three reels synchronise to show the same mix of three icons for a single spin.
Golden Bet feature
It’s up to you whether or not you want to activate this, and you can do so any time during the main game. It will cost you more for each spin, and you’ll see a hat-trick of options:
Boost: For five extra coins a spin, you can win more in free spins mode by choosing a second character during free spins. (See below.)
Nudge: For 15 extra coins, you can win free spins more often – when a free spins symbol lands just outside the game area, it’s nudged in where that means you win free whirls.

Free spins
Land three roses to activate this mode. Three Scatters grants you 10 freebies, as does landing four, although you’ll also get 1,000 coins. Bag five of the free spins icons to enjoy 10 wager-free whirls plus a whopping 5,000 coins.
If you’re operating without the Golden Bet element, choose one character to help you with the free spins mode (Butler, Chef or Maid). With it active, you can pick two.
Land at least three Scatters during the round to retrigger the feature so that the free whirls counter resets at 10 freebies. You’ll also be able to choose one extra servant. Retrigger free spins twice, or until all three servants are in play, in which case you can’t retrigger the round again.

There’s no progressive jackpot here, instead, the top win is €100,000.

Verdict
Numerous other slots out there take a fairytale theme, but Beauty and the Beast Slot seems a worthy addition to the collection, scoring high when it comes to entertainment value, and with some fun bonus features.
