Description
In Bork the Berzerker Hack’n’Slash, Bork’s back wielding his fearsome spiky mace and about to go into battle with no shield to protect him! The bare-chested, muscle-bound barbarian returns in Bork the Berzerker Hack’n’Slash Edition from Thunderkick. He’s on a mission to rescue his lady from the demons holding her prisoner on the orders of a wicked wizard.
This Norse-themed release replaces the original game which the Scandinavian developer removed from its line-up a while back, adding an exciting expanding Wild perk. Meanwhile, the Hack’n’Slash bit of the title stresses the blood-spattered brutality ahead.
Thunderkick’s trademark cartoonish icons and graphics are retained from the original, alongside the format of five reels and 20 set-in-stone Paylines. The special effects include the reels bursting into flaming to mark a big win, while there’s a rather minimalist background.

How to play
The wide betting range allows you to play anywhere between 10p and £100 a spin. And this updated version is now fully optimised for mobile.
The lower-value Q, K and A symbols are here, complete with Nordic runes, and offering between 3x and 4x stake for lining them up.
Since three kinds of demon stand guard over Bork’s beloved, there are rich rewards for landing these – including the green mermen (25x stake), the slithery snakes (15x stake) or the strange three-eyed creature, paying out at 10x.
Should you spot the lovely sea maiden, however, she’s the most lucrative symbol, shelling out at 50x stake for five on a Payline.
Bork the Berzerker Hack’n’Slash special features
Special symbols
Bork himself is the Wild, replacing all icons bar the Scatter. During the base game, the Wild only shows up on Reel 3, i.e. the middle one. When it forms part of a winning combo, it expands to turn a reel fully Wild.
The sorcerer is the bonus or Scatter.
Bonus features
Free spins feature
You need at least three Scatters wherever you like on the reels to kick off the free spins feature. Three, four or five will give you 10, 15 or 20 free whirls respectively.
Bork the Berzerker Hack’n’Slash then takes you to a cave, where you’ll be able to rescue Bork’s damsel in distress.
In this round, the Bork Wild may show up the Reels 2 through 4, which means you could benefit from having three Wild reels on each freebie.
Return to Player (RTP)
RTP or Return to Player is higher than the Thunderkick average in Bork the Berzerker, at 97.3% compared with the studio’s more typical 96.1%. However, understand that this is a volatile slot, meaning you may have some dry spells in between hits. And this is one of those games which may reward an aggressive betting strategy.
Verdict
If you’re slightly squeamish about the sight of blood, this may not be the ideal slot for you. But if an intense soundtrack and ‘claret’ splattering over the reels sound like your version of fun, you’re in for a treat!
And for all its fire and fury, this slot remains a fairly simple one to play. (And with the chance to win up to 2,100x stake, it’s also pretty lucrative.)
Of course, other Viking-themed slots are available. But the animations alone in Bork the Berzerker Hack’n’Slash, and watching Bork slash the demons to pieces, make this game worth playing if bloody battles are your thing.
