Another cool variant of classic blackjack is Face Up 21 Blackjack. The name comes from the absolute difference in the deal in terms of the dealer’s cards.
In normal games, the dealer’s second card (hole card) is face-down, however here in Face Up 21 Blackjack both the dealer’s initial cards are shown face up.
This is a fine addition to the blackjack world, known in some territories as ‘double exposure blackjack’, and you can play it at various online casinos now.
How to play
The beauty of Face Up 21 Blackjack is that it is very easy to play. All you need to do is place any wagers for the deal to start. Both of the dealer’s cards will then be dealt face up rather than face down.
Once your own hand is dealt, based on that you can either hit (get another card), stand (if you have a strong hand), double-down (double your initial bet and get a new card), split, or surrender just as you would in many classic blackjack game versions.
The dealer will play their hand and the one closest to or equalling exactly 21 wins. Easy!
The payout ratio in Face Up 21 is different depending on your win, just as it is in classic games, with payout tables available at all online casinos to show you how much you can expect to win.
How to Play Face Up 21 Blackjack
The main difference regarding the way Face Up 21 is played compared to classic blackjack is simply about how the deal is structured.
Here, the dealer will not be checking for blackjack should their first card be an Ace or a 10-value card which is something we’ve got used to in other versions.
This means that as a player, you can bet more freely. You can split or double down without ever being concerned about what is coming when the dealer reveals their second card!
If the dealer stands on their first hand, then the system in Face Up 21 Blackjack will usually hit on your behalf.
This is done to attempt to put together a better hand for you and give you a better chance of the win.
As with other versions, the payout for a blackjack is 1/1 or ‘even-money’, while we recommend that if you use the surrender option you should do so carefully, as in Face Up 21 this may not work out well for you in the longer run.
Return to Player
As is the case with many online blackjack games, the RTP in Face Up 21 Blackjack runs at around 99.5%. This is an excellent potential return but is just an average so your own returns may differ over the course of time.
Another blackjack variant, and another winner! Face Up 21 Blackjack does hand players an advantage if they know how to use it.
Face Up 21 Blackjack can be played via desktop, or on any iOS or Android device when downloaded from one of our recommended online casinos.
