Description
Vegas Single Deck Blackjack is set, as you’d expect, on a beautiful green gaming table and is incredibly easy to play.
An animated version of blackjack, one of the most popular casino games ever, the game is complimented by a good soundtrack with jazz music playing in the background and all the sounds expect within a real casino environment, brought to you by Microgaming.
While a real casino feel is well imitated here, the fact is that you can play Vegas Single Deck Blackjack from the comfort of your own home!
How to play
The rules for this game will be familiar to anyone having played blackjack before. The idea is to add your cards up to a higher number than the dealer. If you get higher than 21, or are ‘bust’, the house wins. If you ‘stick’ on too low a number however, the house is bound to win that way too.
Most blackjack variants online, or in land-based casinos for that matter, use multiple decks which are designed to hand an advantage to the casino. This online version however uses just one deck, meaning that experienced players can comfortably count the dispersed cards to try to gain an advantage of their own in terms of knowing that certain numbers cannot come out of the deck.
How to Play Vegas Single Deck Blackjack
This is a ‘hole card’ game. In other words, in Vegas Single Deck Blackjack deals just the one card to each player, face down.
Once the dealer is given an Ace, or a card valued at 10, they can see their cards and discover whether or not they have ‘blackjack’, or 21.
Just as is the case within other blackjack titles, the game pays players 3:2. If you wish, you can split two cards if they have the same value, such as two 7’s. If a 21 is dealt on split hands then the payout is 1:1 and doesn’t count as a ‘blackjack’.
You can choose to ‘double down’ if you have a hand valued at 9, 10 or 11, though there is no surrender option here.
If the dealer achieves ‘blackjack’, you can get some insurance. An insurance bet restores half your initial bet at odds of 2:1.
Even though there are different versions of blackjack, before you begin playing Vegas Single Deck Blackjack you can simply play other variants for free to start learning the basic rules. This one in itself however becomes very easy to play the more you go along.
Return to Player
The return to player percentage, or RTP, is an incredibly high 99.69%. This means that, over the course of a month and across all players, 99.69% of all money spent is handed back out as winnings.
Verdict
Blackjack is a wonderfully simple casino game. This particular online variant manages to make the game even more entertaining however. The single deck means players can count if they wish, legally, while the atmosphere provided puts you in mind of any real-life casino you’ve ever been to.
