Now known as Chaps Day, this popular Saturday meeting features a competitive seven-race card including a £17,000 Class 3 sprint over 5½ furlongs. The main race is backed up by more quality action over various distances from five furlongs to a mile-and-a-half.
The theme of this meeting is new as of 2020 and is seen as a Gentlemen’s Day with a twist, the live racing being only part of the fun as the Style Competition pretty much takes centre stage – many a peaky blinder is expected.
Cash prizes are on offer for the best, or “most dapperly” dressed racegoers as three such competitions take place around the track meaning this will genuinely be a day to remember for this winning this, as well as perhaps a few quid from the on-course bookmakers.
As well as live music days, themed events like this are seen as crucial to keep people coming racing and Bath Racecourse are certainly doing their bit.
