The middle Wednesday in October sees Bath Racecourse host their Season Finale and, along with the Season Opener, it bookends the campaign perfectly in a number of ways.
While these two meetings given their respective time of year offer a rare chance for those who do not go on firm ground to run at Bath, both fixtures also feature some genuinely high-quality racing. This day is highlighted by the Beckford Stakes, a Listed event for the fillies and mares over the long mile-and-three-quarter trip.
To back it up there are a further six races, all of which are well supported by trainers and jockeys looking to grab as much prize money as possible before the season is out. While crowd-wise this is a quiet day, it remains very important for Bath and is very much one for proper racegoers as opposed to summer day-trippers.
