The Clark Handicap is a Grade I race that has been taking place since 1875. It is open to horses that are at least three years old and it carries a $500,000 prize purse. It takes place towards the end of November each year and is one of the oldest horse races that is still being run in the country. The race is named after the Louisville Jockey Club founder, the body that developed the Churchill Downs track.
