The Summer Handicap Hurdle at Market Rasen is a Listed hurdle race that allows horses of at least three years old to enter. It takes place usually at the end of July each season and it has been a Listed race since 2008. It was first run in 1995 when it was won by six-year-old Monty Royale. The winner will get a first prize of £22,780.
At this track, it is very hard to make up ground as the race goes on. It is fairly flat and this is why strong positioning from the beginning is vital.
