The Turf Classic Stakes is a Grade 1 stakes race for Thoroughbred horses aged four and older over a distance of 1 1/8 miles on turf. The race is run annually at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky, United States. The purse for the 2024 race is $1 million.
The first Turf Classic Stakes was run in 1987 as the Early Times Turf Classic Stakes. The race was renamed the Turf Classic Stakes in 1996. The race has been won by some of the top turf horses in the world, including Cigar, Skip Away, and Zenyatta.
