Gaming Corps has just released a new slot called Wild and Wet Beavers that features A-MAZE-CADES, an exciting new mechanic
How does this work?
A-MAZE-CADES is something we’re all excited about at Gaming Corps. It’s hugely innovative and a brand-new twist on the standard cascading mechanic.
The grid, set up in a 5×5 format, is a snaking maze with an entrance at the top right and an exit at the bottom left.
💬 With each winning combination, every symbol that’s part of the win is removed from the grid, and then the symbols will move and “cascade” from right to left through the maze towards the exit.
The game aims to get the Beavers from the top-right corner to the bottom-left corner so they can collect. Free Spins are triggered when three are collected in a single game round.
It’s an entirely unique setup, and it has never been done before. We’re delighted that our partners have given us brilliant feedback about it, and now we can’t wait to see what players think about it as well.
How does the A-MAZE-CADES mechanic offer value to players?
The advantage of A-MAZE-CADES is that it’s really hard to predict and has great energy and dynamism.
💬 It’s entertaining in many ways, including watching the grid mechanism on every spin. Speaking of which, I should point out that the overall spin length is slightly longer than that found on standard slot machines.
This will increase the overall time on the device while still maintaining an experience that is hugely fun to have.
So how did you come up with this new mechanic? Talk us through the creation process
We wanted to finish the year strong and start 2025 even stronger. To achieve this, we decided to ensure that some of our games included never-before-seen concepts and mechanics.
💬 A-MAZE-CADES was born after our mathematician Jon mentioned the idea to the Gaming Corps team down the pub. This shows once again that inspiration and creativity take place anywhere, not just in an organised meeting space.
Jon quickly convinced us that this mechanic would create an engaging player experience, so much so that we immediately realised it should be used to drive a series of games, not just the next one we released.
That next game was your latest, Wet and Wild Beavers. Why did you choose that one to be driven by A-MAZE-CADES?
Well, beavers aren’t a popular theme in slot games, but they are a much-loved animal in the real world. So, we figured this theme would generate curiosity among players.
💬 It also fits in with our aim of creating a game that would stand out and create a world into which the players could immerse themselves.
Once they give it a try, they’ll be exposed to our new mechanic, which we’re confident will keep them hooked.
Apart from your new mechanic, what other bonus features do players find in the game?
There are plenty of bonuses to mention, which all help A-MAZE-CADES move forward within a single game round. The Dam Flood feature can be triggered on non-winning spins and will flood the reels with Random Wild symbols.
A feature is also triggered whenever a Wet and Wild Beaver gets collected, helping the A-MAZE-CADES move forward.
💬 As for the all-important Free Spins, where the Dam Flood feature is active on every spin, the Wet and Wild Beavers collect more frequently as they begin in the middle position.
There’s a re-trigger for every third Beaver collected on a single Free Spin, which awards +4 Free Spins, with a combination of each Beaver getting a +1 Multiplier.
Finally, what are your plans for the A-MAZE-CADES mechanic?
We’re so pleased with the amazing feedback we’ve been getting about the mechanic and are already discussing what else we can do with it.
