The Betfair Hurdle is a Grade 3 race at Newbury Racecourse that allows horses of at least four years old to enter. In total, horses have to get over eight different hurdles during the handicap race. It takes place during a February meeting, with a max field of 24 horses going to the starting post.
It has been running since 1963, with the first race taking place at Aintree. Two winners of the Betfair Hurdle have managed to successfully go on to win the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March.
