The Kingmaker Novice’s Chase is a Grade II steeplechase that allows horses that are at least five years old to enter. It takes place over one mile and seven furlongs at Warwick Racecourse. There are a dozen fences in total that have to be jumped, with novice chasers taking part each year in early February.
It has been taking place since 1991, having originally been part of the calendar in May and taking place over two and a half miles. However, the change in date and distance came originally in 1996.
