The Leisure Stakes is a six-furlong Listed event, one run at Lingfield from its inception in 1982 to 2000 when it was switched to its current home at Windsor.
These days the race is the feature event on one of Windsor’s perennially popular Monday evening fixtures and while its prize money offering of around £35,000 isn’t the very biggest for this level, the race does tend to attract some pretty fine sprinting types as it sits perfectly in the calendar.
The 2019 renewal was won by Dream Of Dreams, who was then narrowly beaten in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot, with subsequent dual Group 2 winner Glorious Journey second and former two-time winner of this race and Group 1 scorer The Tin Man back in third.
High-class sprinters Harmonic Way, Markab and Tropics are among the other winners of the Leisure Stake
