Description

Baccarat en Banque, sometimes known simply as Baccarat Banque, is a wonderfully entertaining casino table game. For the most part, the game follows the same rules as classic Baccarat although a few rule changes including allowing just the one player to remain as the banker throughout.

In Baccarat en Banque, the opportunity to be the banker is put up to auction at the beginning of each game. The player willing to risk the most money is allowed to bank the game.

Each player chooses to bet as much as they want, including “going bank” which means to bet the entire amount in the bank.

Tables are divided into the right side and left side, the order of betting moving between the two. It’s possible for up to two players to go bank, one from each side.

How to play

When all players in Baccarat en Banque have placed their bets, the banker will deal hands. The game is played using a shoe, as in traditional baccarat, with 2-4 decks. The banker will deal three hands; their own, and one for each side of the table.

From this point on, the rules are then the same as traditional baccarat or Chemin de Fer. Each hand is made up of two cards. The value of each is; Ace (1 point), 2-9 (worth their number), 10’s and face cards (0).

Traditionally, a player from each side – the one with the biggest stake – will take control of their hand. That player then has the option to stand on their two-card hand, or else take a third card from the banker.

Most players choose to take a card with 0-4 points, stand on 6-7 or go either way with 5. If they take a third card, it is dealt face up. The banker then chooses to stand or take a card at their own discretion.

Should the player’s hand beat the banker, they are paid out at even money to each player. Should the banker win, all player’s bets are placed into the bank.

At any time during the game, the banker may want to retire. Then, they must state the amount of the bank. From here on, players have the choice of matching that bank amount and becoming the new banker of the table. If no remaining player can match the amount, the banker will again be chosen by auction as at the start of the game.

Return to Player

Typically, Return to Player percentages of online baccarat games reaches some 98.4%. This is a high figure, but remember it is averaged so your own return depends on the result of the game while how much you win will depend on your staking plan.

Verdict

Classic Baccarat is a great game, but the banking option in Baccarat en Banque just lifts it to the next level. You can play Baccarat en Banque now on many great sites via desktop and we’d recommend you give it a go!
