Blackjack Surrender from Playtech is not just a rule in Blackjack games but also serves as a variant. This type of Blackjack variant is not easy to come by as many 2-deck and 6-8-deck blackjack games exclude the surrender option.

The big deal about Blackjack Surrender is that it is designed to help you win. The surrender option gives better odds in certain scenarios allowing you to minimize losses quite early in the game.

It also helps to reduce the house edge by up to 0.09%. Blackjack Surrender comes with many rules quite similar to other variants and also comes with its own restrictions.

How to play

To play, you would have to launch the game and place your bet. If you’ve played any Blackjack variant before, then simply place your bet in the usual manner.

If not, find the control buttons on the screen and set any of the desired bet levels to claim the chips.

At the start of the game, the dealer will deal two cards each for both of you. If the dealer shows a face-up Ace, they will check for Blackjack before the hand can continue.

To make a surrender, you would have to be dealt cards on a hand. When that happens, you can decide to take either one of these five actions.

  • Hit – Hitting is demanding another card in a bid to increase the value of your cards until you have 21 or more.
  • Stand – Standing is when a player refuses to receive additional cards and chooses to maintain the current hand total.
  • Split – This means dividing your hand into two separate hands with an equal bet amount set for both.
  • Double bet – This action allows you to double your original wager in order to receive one additional card.
  • Surrender – Surrendering allows players to give up their hands during a round in order to receive half of their wager. This action is done before the dealer checks their hand for a natural blackjack. You can perform an early or late surrender depending on the blackjack variant.

To win, you will have to ensure that your hand stays under 21 then you can hit stand to see whether you’ve won. If you go for the Surrender option, you will be offered half of your stake. The player (you or the dealer) will be offered the win if they have the highest hand under 21.

Bonus Features

There are no real bonus features in this game but you will find the insurance bet option. The gameplay is pretty much the same as other blackjack variants and it pays 2 to 1.

Return to Player (RTP)

Blackjack games notably have the highest return to player values on the market and this variant is no different. Blackjack Surrender offers chances of huge wins thanks to its high RTP value set at 99.65%.

Blackjack Surrender might be the best variant ever giving you a decent opportunity to land wins with less risk. Most variants only feature the late surrender option but you will find quite a few with the early surrender option. Blackjack Surrender comes with a high RTP as usual so winning shouldn’t be a problem even for beginners.
