Description
Tut’s Twister from Swedish slot maestros Yggdrasil Gaming plays with four rows and five reels across 25 fixed Paylines.
Inspired by Ancient Egypt, and particularly one of that culture’s most famous rulers, it’s set in King Tut’s tomb – he’s the one depicted as a skeletal, slightly wild-looking character to the reels’ left, half-swathed in mummy wraps. He’s also got a helmet and sword.
Here, the mighty king returns from the dead to create utter chaos. Enter his tomb to hunt the treasure concealed on the reels.
How to play
Play Tut’s Twister from just 25p up to a high-stakes £125 per spin on all devices, including Android and iOS. Place your bets as usual, with Max Bet, Spin and Autoplay functions all here.
You’ll find only eight icons on the reels, including the four lower-paying playing-card suit values of spades, diamonds, clubs and hearts, plus the four top emblems of an ancient papyrus scroll, a Horus pendant, a ring and a golden pot, the latter paying 130x stake for five on a single Payline.
Tut’s Twister special features
Special symbols
In Tut’s Twister, the Pharaoh himself serves as your Wild, replacing the other icons in the usual manner.
In a mystery win bonus, if you land one Wild during the main game, you’ll win a hieroglyph (see below), an extra Wild, a decent coin win – or, alternatively, nothing at all.
Bonus features
The good news is that the two main features in this game crop up fairly frequently, so Tut’s Twister never gets too boring. They work as follows:
Twister feature
Bag a pair of King Tut Wilds from a single spin to activate this perk, which bestows respins with walking Wilds, plus a rising multiplier. And this perk is also animated to look very cool.
The reel with the Wilds that’s the furthest left turns into a sandstorm as the king himself hurtles into the reels. Here all Wilds become walking, shifting by one reel on every spin towards the reel that’s Wild.
Once the Wilds have been extinguished, you get a last chance warning – plus a single bonus respin. If that yields no further Wilds, your final win is paid out.
For every three Wilds gathered, a multiplier goes up by 1x, as shown on the multiplier panel.
Twister Collection
Above the reels, you’ll see three, four, five, four and three hieroglyphs (over Reels 1 to 5 respectively). All the symbols over any given reel must be filled in to activate your collection bonus.
When a Wild rocks up on the reels, it reveals a random hieroglyphic emblem, to fill those symbols over the reels. Once the final unfilled hieroglyphic icon is completed on a particular reel, you trigger the feature. King Tut will convert your Wild into a twister to award you a respin.
During the first respin, every hieroglyphic icon from the reel in question is placed randomly on that reel, apart from the Wild twister column. A multiplier also applies, kicking off at 2x and going up every three Wilds. Any Wilds landing during this round become walking ones, raising the potential for greater wins.
Jackpot
With no progressive jackpot, there’s a maximum win in Tut’s Twister of €125,000.
Return to Player (RTP)
You should find this a medium-variance offering, with a generous Return to Player (RTP) of 97.1%.
Verdict
We all know there’s nothing new about slots with an Ancient Egyptian theme. But this one does play in a refreshingly different way – so much so, in fact, that you may find it a little tricky to get your head around at first, and you may need a few spins to get the hang of it.
Tut’s Twister certainly isn’t overloaded with features – and there isn’t a free spins round. But it does have the visual richness of this operator’s other offerings, along with a strong storyline.
