About BOTB
Launched back in 1999, BOTB, or Best of the Best, is a lifestyle competition which gives away a dream car every week. Since 2018, a separate contest has also been running, in which the prizes are luxury lifestyle items such as motorbikes and watches, as well as cash sums.
The Stock Exchange-listed company has given away some £35m of prizes over the years and started life running its Spot the Ball competition from airports and shopping centres before moving online.
How to play at BOTB (Best of the Best)
Purchase a ticket for the prize you want to win, have a go at Spot the Ball, stating where you think the missing item is by supplying the exact co-ordinates. The winner is the player who comes closest to the middle of the ball, as judged by a panel of professional sports experts.
They mark where they reckon the ball’s centre should be, in the presence of an independent lawyer.
There can only be one winner. If two (or more) players are equally close to the judges’ position, the winner is determined by working out the next closest entry to those players.
The player with the closest second ticket is declared the outright winner. If a player in this ‘equidistant’ scenario has just a single ticket, all qualifying players can take part in another online Spot the Ball contest to decide the outright winner.
Every week, there’s a guaranteed winner, and ticket prices kick off at 15p for the lifestyle game, depending on the prize you’d like to win, or 90p for that dream car.
While multi-buy discounts are available for tickets, you’re limited to 150 a customer for both competitions.
Summing up
It’s important to remember this is a game of skill, requiring judgement, and this is a legal obligation on the company as BOTB isn’t a lottery or raffle, although the concept is a straightforward one. Equally, you have the peace of mind of playing with an established operator.
There’s also something pleasingly retro about BOTB, given how popular Spot the Ball was in decades gone by. You should really enjoy playing it, whichever contest you enter – have fun, and the very best of luck!
