Lincoln Financial Field is an American football stadium in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is the home arena for the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles, as well as the Temple Owls football team from Temple University.

History of Lincoln Financial Field
The first home ground for the Philadelphia Eagles was Veterans Stadium. This also hosted other local teams, including the MLB’s Philadelphia Phillies. Veterans Stadium opened in 1971 and was demolished in 2004, construction on a new stadium having begun in May 2001.
The new home for the Eagles, Lincoln Financial Field, was officially opened in August 2003. This was just in time for the new season. Naming rights had been bought by the Lincoln Financial Group in June 2002. The 21-year deal was worth almost $140 million.
To fund the stadium’s construction, the State of Pennsylvania and the City of Philadelphia contributed some $188 million. Its total cost was $512 million. Other funding came partly from selling Stadium Builder Licenses to Eagles season ticket holders.
First major upgrade
The first major upgrade at Lincoln Financial Field began at the end of spring 2013. This was a two-year $125 million project. The Stadium saw the installation of new seats, new video boards, better amenities, improved WiFi, and new connection bridges for the upper levels.
