This exciting and colourful 2016 release, The Legend of the Golden Monkey from Swedish studio Yggdrasil Gaming, takes ancient Chinese mythology, culture and tradition as its inspirations. Specifically, it is based on the mythical Sun Wukong figure, otherwise known as the Monkey King, who could turn himself into myriad animals and objects.
The game is set against a temple background, with a view over the mountains, and lanterns hanging outside. The background music is also suitably oriental, and you’ll also hear the distant echo of faraway drums.
