Description
Stockholm-based operator Quickspin presents Tiger’s Glory Slot, a video slot with a non-standard layout of six reels over four rows, plus a colossal 4,096 ways of winning.
It takes the player back to Ancient Rome, and the days of epic gladiatorial battles. It’s set in the humungous, magnificent Colosseum, with two massive columns at both ends of the area of action. Here, a gladiator takes on a tiger.
Are you brave enough to enter into the arena and play for the chance to win a whopping 12,000x stake?
How to play
First things first – adjust your bets, then set Autoplay to turn those reels automatically and without interruption if you prefer, or hit Spin to kick the game off.
Play from 40p a spin to up to £100 – note that the smaller rolls of 10p or 20p a pop are not available here.
The standard A through Royals, 10 and 9 playing-card values are here, representing the lower-paying symbols, alongside no fewer than four different gladiators. But the most lucrative icon is the tiger himself, rewarding you with a nice 10x stake for a full six on a Payline.
Create winning combos by landing similar icons anywhere you like on at least three neighbouring reels, kicking off from Reel 1 i.e. that means on Reels 1, 2 and 3.
The symbols can display in stacks of two, but when combined with others, can produce full stacks.
Tiger’s Glory Slot special features
Special symbols
The Wild symbol (a wreath) is only present in the main game. As usual, it replaces all icons bar the bonus Scatter, plus the Enraged Tiger emblem.
The Enraged Tiger is differentiated from the standard tiger icon by its red frame.
Bonus features
Enraged Tiger free spins
Land at least a hat-trick of bonus Scatters to stir the tiger into a rage and launch this round. The number of spins bagged depends on how many of the symbols you landed, and you can win between seven and 20 freebies at the start of this feature.
During this round, you don’t need to begin from the reel that’s furthest left, or even to be on consecutive reels to get a win – the tiger icon pays out anywhere on the reel set.
When playing the free spins, if the Enraged Tiger symbol appears, and if he manages to defeat the gladiator, it becomes a sticky Wild for the rest of the round. Equally, if he triumphs in battle, you get an extra free whirl, and this bonus can be retriggered for up to six spins. So, in total, you could win an extra 26 free goes while playing this perk.
Progressive jackpot
Unfortunately, there’s no progressive jackpot in Tiger’s Glory Slot, but the various other ways of winning here should more than make up for that.
Return to Player (RTP)
The RTP or Return to Player in Tiger’s Glory Slot is a generous 96.51%. This is a high-volatility game, much more so than for many of this operator’s other offerings.
Verdict
The visuals and design are, of course, just amazing, although one reviewer remarked that Quickspin has done better elsewhere. The soundtrack, equally, may seem somewhat incongruous (one reviewer commented that it would be better suited to a Second World War movie).
Still, we reckon this game is successful in recreating something of the feel of Ancient Rome, and some in the industry have stressed that it shows Quickspin is mastering high-volatility play. Equally, the gameplay is flawlessly smooth.
