Description
Classic Roulette kind of does what it says on the tin! If we think about the various live elements, immersive versions and themed games, roulette has taken on so many forms down the years.
Sometimes however, all you want is a classic game of roulette online to slake the thirst built up from missing out on a real casino experience. Roulette from the likes of RealTime Gaming is a casino table classic, equal in popularity to poker, craps and baccarat, with the online casino world allowing us a wealth of opportunities to play whenever we like.
How to play
For those used to seeing how roulette works in a real, land-based casino, there will be no surprises when you play Classic Roulette online.
There is a wheel, in this case of course an animated one, featuring 37 spaces or ‘pockets’ in total. 36 of these are numbered, while one is saved for the green ‘zero’ spot. All of the other numbers are either red or black.
Beside the wheel there will be a bet board featuring all the numbers laid out, along with other bet options. You can bet on any individual number, on red or black, odd or even and many other things besides.
Chips are available in different denominations – all you have to do is click and drag them onto the bet board to place your wagers. A window featuring the wins history will be displayed, so you can see how often each number has won.
How to Play Classic Roulette
Initially, you should choose your stake by clicking on the various available chips. Place your bets by dragging the chips across to the board before the countdown finishes and the wheel spins.
If you are betting ‘straight-up’, i.e. on individual numbers, then these are paid out at 35/1. You can split two numbers and be paid at 17/1, while even-money bets include red/black, even/odd and first 18/second 18. As these latter bets are at odds of 1/1, if you placed a successful 10 coins on black, your return would be 20 coins in total.
Once your bets are placed, a ‘no more bets’ announcement will appear on screen or be audible during the game, then you can watch the ball jink in and out of the various wheel pockets until it settles finally in one of them, ultimately deciding the winning bets.
Return to Player
Classic Roulette games online are set with a return to player percentage, or RTP, of 97.3%. This is a very fair figure and standard for this type of game, but it is simply an average figure taken across all players and for an entire month.
How often you actually win and how much you get really depends on your stake levels, and of course how lucky you manage to be.
Verdict
There is a very good reason why certain games stand the test of time. We love them. Classic Roulette is just that, a classic, and we see no reason why you actually need any theme to compliment it.
